Rangers are in talks with Hansa Rostock over the signing of striker Ryan Naderi, STV understands.

The Ibrox club have plans to strengthen Danny Rohl’s attacking options before the transfer window closes next week, amidst talk Brazilian forward Danilo is set to exit.

German striker Naderi, who plays in the third tier in his home country, has been identified as a target and talks have opened over a bid to take him to Glasgow.

However, Hansa Rostock are only two points off the top of the Bundesliga 3 table and have title ambitions of their own. Losing a player who has eight goals and five assists from 17 games could dent those hopes and they are keen to hold on to the 22-year-old.

Naderi began his career in his home town of Dresden but moved to Borussia Moenchengladbach in 2021 and played for their second team.

A move to Hansa followed in 2024 and after a promising first season where he scored five times, he’s made a big contribution to their promotion push this term.

Rangers have already been busy in the January window as they look to put together a squad that can beat Hearts and Celtic to the Premiership trophy.

Midfielder Tochi Chukwuani, left-back Tuur Rommens and winger Andreas Skov Olsen have all been added to Rohl’s group of players.
