Rangers are hopeful of completing a loan deal for Oscar Cortes from RC Lens before the transfer window closes on Thursday.
The 20-year-old winger has made four appearances for the Ligue 1 side this season and scored his only goal of the campaign against Stade Reims at the end of last year.
He has one cap for Colombia after making his international debut last summer when he came off the bench for the last four minutes in a win over Iraq.
If they complete the deal he will be their third signing of this month following the acquisitions of Fabio Silva on loan from Wolves and Mohammed Diomande from Danish side Nordsjaelland.
Rangers will have the option of making the Cortes move permanent in the summer.
The Ibrox club are currently five points behind Celtic at the top of the Premiership but have a game in hand over their city rivals.
They return to league action with a home game against Livingston on Saturday.
