Rangers have been defeated by Manchester United in a pre-season friendly at Murrayfield as they continue their preparations for the new campaign.
The English Premier League side ran out 2-0 winners in Edinburgh with goals from former Ibrox loan-star Amad Diallo and Joe Hugill.
A crowd of over 56,000 were in attendance to see the clash between last season’s Scottish League Cup and English FA Cup winners.
Both teams made several changes throughout the game played at the home of rugby on Saturday afternoon.
New signings Jefte and Connor Barron started for Philippe Clement’s side alongside the likes of Jack Butland, Dujon Sterling and Cyriel Dessers.
United started with a largely second-string team with a smattering of first team Andre Onana, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Casemiro and Mason Mount.
Diallo put Erik Ten Hag’s men 1-0 up just before half-time after efforts from Mohammed Diomande and Tom Lawrence failed to hit the target.
Man Utd made ten changes at the break with a raft of fringe-players, including former Hibs loanee Will Fish, given an opportunity to stake a claim.
Clement replaced Oscar Cortes with Rabbi Matondo at the break.
Scott Wright came close as Rangers chased an equaliser before Hugill fired the ball into the roof of the net to double the lead and make it 2-0.
Rangers then made nine changes of their own with the likes of Connor Goldson and Danilo introduced into the action.
And the Brazilian striker came closest to pulling one back after a cross from Ridvan Yilmaz on the left but the game finished 2-0.
Rangers will kick-off their competitive campaign at Hampden Park as Ibrox Stadium remains closed for renovations.
There was no sign of club captain James Tavernier, who has been recently linked with a move away from the club, or Todd Cantwell who is yet to feature in any of their pre-season games so far.
