Rangers have confirmed the deadline day signing of Nicolas Raskin.
The 21-year-old midfielder joins the Ibrox side for an undisclosed fee on a “long-term” contract from Pro-League side Standard Liege.
Raskin, who will wear the number 43 jersey, can’t wait to get started in Scotland.
He said: “I feel very excited to be here and I also feel very proud to join a very big club. I’m looking forward to playing at Ibrox. It was very exciting when I was told of Rangers’ interest because it’s a big club.
I’m looking forward to making my debut and I hope it can be as soon as possible.”
The Belgian joins Todd Cantwell as Michael Beale’s new January recruits as they look to cut the nine-point gap to Celtic in the Premiership.
Raskin has made 50 appearances for Standard Liege since making his debut as a teenager four years ago.
He has also played for Belgium at every level below the first team, including six appearances for the Under-21 side and is expected to feature at this summer’s UEFA Euro under-21 championships in Georgia and Romania.
Rangers said: “We are delighted to announce the signing of midfielder Nicolas Raskin from Standard Liege for an undisclosed fee on a long-term contract, subject to a work permit being confirmed.”
The January transfer window closes at midnight on Tuesday.
