Rangers have announced the coaching team that will work with manager Philippe Clement for the remainder of the current season.
The Belgian coach arrived at Ibrox in October as permanent successor to Michael Beale, bringing Stephan van der Heyden with him as his assistant manager but had not finalised the entirety of his backroom team.
Veteran Rangers player Steven Davis had worked as interim boss before Clement’s appointment and spent some time on the coaching staff but chose not to pursue a long-term role as he prioritises his recovery from knee surgery but former Ibrox midfielder Alex Rae is remaining as part of the staff.
Brian Gilmour will also assist Clement and Van der Heyden, with Colin Stewart continuing as goalkeeping coach.
Tom Taylor will also join the management set-up as head of performance from English Premier League side Brighton later this month
“I’m delighted to be back at Rangers for the rest of the season,” Alex Rae told the club website.
“Everyone knows how much this club means to me and I am determined to help the gaffer and Stephan bring silverware back to Rangers.
“We are still in four competitions and we have a lot to look forward to this season.”
Gilmour, who previously worked in the club’s academy structure and has a responsibility for players transitioning into the first team squad, said: “I have thoroughly enjoyed being part of the manager’s coaching staff since he took over in October.
“I believe working alongside him, Stephan, Alex and Colin can only help me develop as a coach.
“Now we are determined to bring success to the club.”
