Rangers have signed St Gallen forward Cedric Itten just hours after sealing a deal for Anderlecht’s Kemar Roofe.
Roofe was confirmed as Steven Gerrard’s latest signing on Tuesday afternoon but the club have made another attacking addition Itten agreeing a four-year deal at Ibrox.
The 23-year-old forward has been in prolific form at St Gallen and his 19 goals helped them to second place in the league last season.
Now, he has made the move to Glasgow as Rangers look to land major silverware this season.
The Ibrox side kicked off their season with a 1-0 win at Aberdeen but have been light on attacking options with Jermaine Defoe currently injured.
First choice striker Alfredo Morelos has been continually linked with a move away from the club, though Gerrard said last week that the Colombian was “nowhere near” a transfer to Lille.
Neither Roofe or Itten is eligible to play in Thursday’s Europa League quarter-final second leg against Bayer Leverkusen.
