Rangers have announced the signing of Malik Tillman on a season-long loan from Bayern Munich.

The US international moves to Ibrox from the German giants, with Rangers having an exclusive option to buy.

Tillman, an attacking midfielder, joined Bayern in 2015 and represented the Bundesliga side at every youth level.

The 20-year-old also made appearances for their first team in the Champions League last season.

He becomes Rangers fifth signing of the summer following on from John Souttar, Antonio Colak, Tom Lawrence and Rabbi Matondo.

“I am really excited to sign for Rangers and I’m looking forward to getting started,” said Tillman after his signing was announced by the club.

“It is a new challenge for me at a huge club with fantastic supporters and I can’t wait for the season ahead.”

Manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst added: “I am very pleased to welcome Malik to our squad ahead of the 2022/23 season.

“He is an exciting young talent who will further add to our attacking options and myself and the coaching staff are looking forward to working with him.”

Sporting Director, Ross Wilson, thanked Bayern Munich for their cooperation on the deal.

“We are pleased that amongst his many options Malik has chosen to become a Rangers player,” said Wilson.

“He’s a talented young man, one that we have been working on for a number of weeks.

“Not only are we pleased to welcome Malik for the season ahead we have also secured an exclusive option to buy with Bayern Munich.

“We thank Bayern for their cooperation across all of our discussions.”
