Rangers have signed Connor Barron from Aberdeen on a four-year-deal.

The 21-year-old midfielder joins the Ibrox side on a free after his contract at Pittodrie expired.

He is the latest player signed in Philippe Clement’s summer rebuild following the acquisitions of Oscar Cortes and Jefte.

Rangers confirmed the move on Thursday.

The Scotland under-21 midfielder, who has made over 50 first-team appearances for Aberdeen says he is delighted to make the move.

He said: “I am absolutely delighted. As soon as I started talking to the club I knew that this was the place for me to come. Everything seemed right and I think it is the best place for me to be at this moment of my career.

“It is a club where the demand is high to win football matches and trophies and that is something that I really want to be a part of. It was a massive decision for me, but it was made easy by speaking to the staff and the manager and now I can’t wait to get started.”

A compensation fee has to be agreed between the clubs so it is set to go a tribunal to decide how much Rangers will have to pay Aberdeen for the player.
