Rangers have announced a friendly with Bayer Leverkusen during the Qatar World Cup.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s men will take on the Bundesliga giants on December 10 at Ibrox, at 1pm, during the midseason winter break.
The sides last faced in the 2019/20 Europa League with Leverkusen knocking Steven Gerrard’s side out of the tournament after the season restarted following the pandemic.
Bayer ran out 3-1 winners at Ibrox in the home tie, before finishing the job with a 1-0 win at the BayArena.
The game will also see the return of Celtic fullback Jeremie Frimpong to Ibrox, after he left for the Bundesliga in January 2021.
With just two games to go before the season takes a break for the World Cup, a number of Ibrox players will be hopeful of flying out to Qatar.
The announcement comes amid sever pressure for Rangers boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst following a 2-1 defeat by St Johnstone that left them seven points behind Celtic at the top of the Premiership.
The Light Blues also made unwanted history in Europe when their 3-1 home defeat to Ajax saddled them with the worst-ever record in the Champions League group stages.
