Rangers and Scotland forward Jane Ross has announced she will retire at the end of the season.
Ross, 35, made her senior Scotland debut in March 2009, going on to earn 151 caps and score 62 goals.
Having started her career at Paisley Saint Ladies, Ross joined Glasgow City in 2006, winning 12 trophies – six league titles, three Scottish Cups and three League Cups – as well as playing in the Champions League.
Ross also had successful a spell in Sweden with Vittsjo and then played for Manchester City, West Ham and Manchester United ahead of a switch back to Scotland with Rangers in 2021, winning the title in her first season.
“I always have kind of known throughout my career that I would know when the time is right, and for me personally, it just feels like the right moment,” said Ross, whose final game with Rangers will be the Scottish Cup final against Glasgow City on May 25.
“It was a dream to sign for this club and to play for them. To win trophies here, to play at Ibrox, there are so many childhood dreams that have been achieved.
“I have loved my career, I have loved what I have done and it has been a dream come true to have achieved what I have, but the timing is right and I am excited for the future and what comes next.”
Rangers head coach Jo Potter paid tribute to Ross as the “model professional”.
Potter told the club’s website: “It has been an absolute honour and privilege to work alongside Jane in my two seasons.
“She is the model professional and a real credit to the women’s game, you can see that with how she conducts herself on a day-to-day basis here at Rangers.
“There is still so much to achieve together yet and hopefully as a club we can give Jane the send-off she deserves.”
