Philippe Clement has admitted that Rangers have improved since his arrival but the team needs more preparation time between games to go to “another level”.
Rangers, who have won 14 out of 16 Premiership games under Clement, made their way into the quarter-finals of the Scottish Cup with a 2-0 win over Ayr at Ibrox on Saturday.
Under the Belgian’s reign, he has also guided the club to the last 16 of the Europa League and to Viaplay Cup glory back in December.
Clement has pointed to improved data within distances ran, sprinting, and intensity – but insisted that the team can still go to “another level” if they are given more time to prepare between games.
“I think there is still a lot of potential for sure in that way, to grow”, he said.
“That’s why I’m looking forward to the preparation with the team, to really bring them to another level. I’m convinced that its possible with the players that are in the building now, but its difficult to create that during a season with every three days game.
“We’re growing, we’re getting better, I think its clear for everybody, and it’s also clear in the data. There is more distance run, there are more sprints, there is more high intensity that a few months ago, but we’re not at our top.
“We need a really good preparation to go to the next level, in this level we are pushing things to make it better and I think it will be better at the end of the season also.”
The Light Blues could go top of the table if they beat premiership strugglers Ross County by three goals or more at Ibrox on Wednesday night.
However, Clement has said he will not be looking at the league table – no matter the outcome.
He said: “I will not look at the league table, no.
“I will be happy if we’ve won the game – that’s the only thing.”
