Celtic and Rangers will meet in the final Old Firm derby of the season on May 4 after the SPFL published the full list of Premiership post-split fixtures.

The league body has finalised the schedule for the remainder of a season where there are huge matches still to be played and plenty still to be determined at both ends of the table.

Celtic need just one point to be crowned as champions and they’ll look to win the title in style when they face Dundee United at Tannadice in their first post-split fixture on April 26.

Rangers look locked in for second place but there’s an almighty battle shaping up for the European places with Hibs in third place but only three points ahead of Dundee United and Aberdeen, with each team set to play each other.

St Mirren made it a third consecutive season in the top six against the odds with a dramatic win over Ross County on Saturday and while it would take a lot for them to climb further, the Paisley side will be looking to get some more memorable victories and end the season on a high.

For the teams that missed out the top half of the table, relegation is a very real fear and with every team able to inflict real damage on each other, there are plenty of twists and turns left before we know who is heading straight to the Championship and who will endure the stress and tension of the relegation play-off.

St Johnstone remain rooted to the bottom of the table on 29 points but have shown they have fight in them. They are just five points behind Dundee in 11th and there are only six points separating Tony Docherty’s side and seventh-placed Hearts. A run of defeats could see any side plummeting towards the drop.

Calum Beattie, SPFL chief operating officer, said: “It was another hugely exciting weekend of football, with three clubs going into Saturday’s matches separated by only a single point in the battle for the final top-six place and St Mirren making the cut with a late winner.

“I’m pleased to be able to publish the fixtures and TV selections for the remaining five rounds of the William Hill Premiership. There is so much to play for between now and the end of the season, with the title, European qualification and relegation places all on the line. It all gets started with a huge match at Tannadice on Saturday April 26, live on Sky Sports.”
