Celtic have announced the sale of French forward Odsonne Edouard to Crystal Palace ahead of the summer transfer deadline.

Edouard, who has been keen on a move to a club in a bigger league, has signed a four-year-deal with Palace, joining up with compatriot and manager Patrick Vieira at the London club.

The 23-year-old leaves Celtic after a goal-laden four years, where he won seven trophies including back-to-back trebles.

Edouard first arrived at Celtic on loan from PSG in 2017, with the Glasgow club paying a club record fee to make the deal permanent a year later. PSG are understood to be due a cut of the profit Celtic have made through the sale of the striker.

Speaking with Palace TV, Edouard said: “I’m very happy to be here today. I can’t [wait] start to train with the team and to play for this club… Scoring goals in the Premier League may be the biggest challenge in my career. But I’m confident in myself and my teammates to be successful.”

The player later tweeted: “All great things must come to an end. My time at Celtic has come to an end. I have wonderful memories at my time with the club. I can not thank the fans enough for the support and love throughout my four years with the club.”
