Scott McKenna appears to be on his way out of Aberdeen after the club received a “significant” offer for the Scotland centre-back.
Nottingham Forest have been linked with a fresh move for the 23-year-old, who was not included in a 20-man squad for Aberdeen’s Scottish Premiership clash with Motherwell.
The Dons wrote on their official Twitter account: “Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes confirmed on RedTV that the club has received a significant offer for Scott McKenna.
“This is now being dealt with by the chairman and the relevant club.”
Manager McInnes told Red TV: “Big Scotty has been the subject of a bit of interest from a club down south and with that in mind we have left him out.
“He was in the squad originally but I think things have moved on a wee bit even in the last few hours.
“I think in the course of the day something might get resolved there.”
