On-loan Hibs defender Nathan Wood has ended his short spell at the club to return to English Championship side Middlesbrough.
Wood signed for the Easter Road club in a season-long loan in the summer but he will now return south as the deal is cut short.
The 19-year-old will now return to training on Teesside before being recalled by the club when the transfer window reopens in January.
Hibs say the decision was made with Wood’s development in mind and to continue their good relationship with Middlesbrough.
A spokesman for the club said: “We’d like to thank Nathan for all his efforts during his period with us and we wish him all the best for the future.”
Wood made his only appearance for the Edinburgh side in a 3-0 defeat to Dundee United in October.
