Motherwell boss Jens Berthel Askou has won the Glen’s Premiership manager of the month award for December.
Askou guided Motherwell to victories over Livingston, Dundee and Celtic as well as picking up draws on trips to Falkirk and Dundee United in a busy and successful month for the club.
The Danish manager, who was appointed last summer, has taken the Fir Park club up to fourth in the table, and will look to build on that position with matches against Kilmarnock and Livingston to come this month.
“This award belongs to the entire club, not just the manager,” Askou said.
“It serves as an acknowledgement that everyone at the club is doing a great job, which is essentially reflected in our performances on the pitch. On behalf of the entire club, I thank you for this positive attention while we remain committed to improving on and off the pitch and reaching out for more.”
Colin Matthews, CEO of sponsor Glen’s owner the Loch Lomond Group, said:
“Jens Berthel Askou has been a driving force since stepping into his head coach role at the club and the effects of his leadership are clear as Motherwell continue to climb the Premiership table.
“The club’s performance over the past month left no doubt that Jens deserves this recognition as the Glen’s Manager of the Month for December. My congratulations go to him and everyone involved at Fir Park. We look forward to seeing the team maintain this momentum in the months ahead.”
