An array of Hollywood stars, musicians and other celebrities have teed off at the Old Course in St Andrews.
The likes of Michael Douglas and Andy Garcia took a swing on the historic course as part of the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.
Professional golfers will play on the green from Thursday when the championship kicks off, with some of Hollywood’s biggest teeing off on Wednesday.
Michael Douglas said: “I’m a late bloomer. I came out as a tennis player, and then I blew out my knee skiing.
“So, I didn’t start golf till 46, which I deeply regret, as I see these beautiful young swings which I’m never going to have.
“I just had my eightieth birthday, so this was sort of like a good challenge to come up and see how I could do.
“I’ve been hitting some balls lately. So we’ll see how we do.”
Andy Garcia added: “Whenever you play golf, you’re trying to golf the ball the best way you can and challenge yourself. Every shot is a challenge.
“And that’s the beauty of the game. I’m not competing against anybody other than the golf course, in a way. And myself.
Musician Huey Lewis said: “I think it’s my seventeenth year, but who’s counting?
“It’s always a great time, honestly. It’s just a fun week. It’s a week we look forward to all year.”
Tico Torres, renowned drummer of Bon Jovi, said: “It’s spiritual, it’s an unbelievable place.
“The history here and all the great, great, great golfers have gone through here.
“It’s an honour to actually play here.”
