St Mirren midfielder Mark O’Hara aims to showcase their form to a wider audience when the Buddies host Rangers on Sunday.

The Paisley side will feature in a live televised match for the first time in seven months when they take on a Rangers team who have lost two matches in a row and are under the caretaker tenure of Steven Davis.

The second-placed Saints are unbeaten in the cinch Premiership this season and will move six points ahead of Rangers if they win on Sunday.

Former Kilmarnock, Dundee, Peterborough and Motherwell midfielder O’Hara said: “It’s a chance for us to showcase on TV what we are all about and a real chance to show people how well we have been doing this year.

“We have actually been unfortunate not to have more points on the board, a few things went against us.

“We have got good confidence in the squad and each other and we are looking forward to every game that comes.”

St Mirren held Rangers to a 1-1 draw in Paisley last season and O’Hara struck twice at Ibrox before his side saw the game slip away from them in the closing 11 minutes.

And he believes they can pose a bigger threat to Rangers this season.

Speaking of that game at Ibrox, he said: “Their quality of squad showed in the end, when they made the changes, and 2-2 went to 5-2.

“But that’s something this season that we have definitely added. We have more options on the bench and more competition for places.

“When people are tiring and things are changing, we can freshen it up now. We didn’t have that luxury last season.”
