St Mirren defender Marcus Fraser’s red card against Dundee United has been rescinded following a fast track tribunal hearing on Wednesday.

At 1-0 down in the William Hill Premiership clash at Tannadice on Saturday, Fraser, who had conceded the penalty from which Kevin Holt scored the opener, pulled down substitute Louis Moult.

Fraser was initially given a yellow card but that was changed to red following a monitor check by referee Matthew MacDermid and although Holt had his second penalty saved by St Mirren keeper Ellery Balcombe, Emmanuel Adegboyega scored a late second to clinch the three points

The Paisley club released a statement which read: “St Mirren FC is pleased with the decision to rescind Marcus Fraser’s red card following a successful appeal with the fast track tribunal this morning. Marcus is now available for selection on Saturday.”

The Scottish FA revealed the decision on its website: “Claim is Upheld. A4 – Denying the opposing team or an opponent a goal or an obvious goal scoring opportunity as defined by law 12 is rescinded.”
