Livingston’s Premiership match against Aberdeen has been postponed due to the freezing conditions at the Tony Macaroni Arena.

After sub-zero temperatures across the country, the home side worked to have the surface ready for the top flight match but sections of the pitch remained frozen.

After a 2pm inspection by the match referee, the decision was taken to postpone the game.

A Livingston spokesperson said: “Despite the very best efforts of all the club staff over the last 36 or so hours, today’s game with Aberdeen has fallen victim of the freezing conditions and has been postponed. We’ll announce the rescheduled date once confirmed.”

The remainder of the Premiership card, which sees games at Celtic, St Johnstone, St Mirren, Hibernian and Motherwell, is set to go ahead as scheduled.
