Lewis Morgan has been called into the Scotland squad ahead of the final Euro 2024 warm-up match against Finland.

The New York Red Bulls forward is a late addition to head coach Steve Clarke’s provisional 28-man squad, just a day before the final 26-player list has to be submitted to UEFA.

Morgan is called into the squad for the first time under Clarke, with his two Scotland caps having come against Mexico and Peru on tour in 2018.

Clarke had already drafted in Scotland and Bristol City Under-21s striker Tommy Conway after Lyndon Dykes was forced to withdraw with injury. Since then Ben Doak has also dropped out after failing to prove his fitness ahead of the finals tournament.

That’s prompted Clarke to call Morgan after the former St Mirren, Celtic and Inter Miami attacker continued his good form in MLS. In 19 games this season, the 27-year-old has nine goals and three assists.

The call-up will fuel further speculation about which two players Clarke will now drop from the squad ahead of the deadline. he’ll see his team in action in the send-off match against Finland at Hampden on Friday before making his final decision.
