Laura Muir has booked a place in a place in the 1500 metres Olympics final.
The runner was in action in Paris on Thursday and recorded a time of 3:59.83 to finish fourth and secure a spot in Saturday’s showpiece where she will be competing for a medal.
She was leading the pack into the last 300 metres but was eventually overtaken by Kenya’s Faith Kipyegon, Team GB colleague Georgia Bell and Elle St Pierre from the United States.
The 31-year-old Scot, who won Gold in the same event at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham two years ago and silver at the last Olympics in Tokyo, will be hoping to add another medal to her collection at the weekend.
World record holder Kipyegon stormed to a first place finish with a time of 3:58.64.
British champion Bell overtook Muir in the last 100 metres to cross the line in 3:59.49 as the second-fastest finisher with St Pierre finishing third.
