A goal in stoppage time has ended Scotland’s hopes of playing at the UEFA Women’s Championship.
The Scots’ Euro 2022 campaign came to an end at Easter Park in Edinburgh on Tuesday night after Amanda Rantanen’s late goal gave Finland a 1-0 victory.
It is the third straight 1-0 defeat for Shelley Kerr’s side after losing to Finland in October, followed by Portugal in November.
The Scots are currently sitting third in Group E and still have two games left to play, however they are seven points off the top two, Finland and Portugal.
Following the final whistle, a spokesperson for the team posted online: “Tonight’s result means we can now not qualify for UEFA Women’s Euro 2022.
“Thank you for all your support from home tonight and throughout the campaign.”
