Kilmarnock manager Stuart Kettlewell to serve one-match ban after sending off against RangersSNS Group

Kilmarnock have revealed that manager Stuart Kettlewell will serve an immediate one-match ban after he was sent off during his side’s defeat to Rangers.

The Killie boss was frustrated after two important decisions went against the hosts in Saturday’s match. He felt his side should have had a penalty after a Mohamed Diomande challenge on David Watson, and also believed Jack Butland should have been sent off when he raced from his line to tackle Bruce Anderson.

Kettlewell lost his temper and kicked his water bottle in anger, then directed a tirade at the fourth official and then match referee Kevin Clancy. He was then sent to the stands.

Scottish FA rules allowed for a longer ban if merited but the club have said that Kettlewell will only sit out one match, against Aberdeen next weekend.

A brief statement read: “We can confirm that manager Stuart Kettlewell will be suspended for one match following a sending off in the match against Rangers.

“This suspension will be effective immediately, and will be served during the match against Aberdeen at Pittodrie.

“The Club accepts this ruling and will make no further comment.”
