Kilmarnock have confirmed the signing of Greg Kiltie from St Mirren.

The 28-year-old has put pen to paper on a two-year deal as he returns to Rugby Park following four years in Paisley.

Manager Stuart Kettlewell, who joined the Ayrshire side following the departure of Derek McInnes, is preparing his side for the new campaign with his second signing of the summer.

Kiltie spent eight years at Killie after making his debut as a teenager in 2013, making 134 appearances across all competitions.

Following loan spells at Queen of the South, Greenock Morton, and Dunfermline, he joined St Mirren on a permanent deal in 2021.

The midfielder played 142 times for the Saints and helped them to three consecutive top-six finishes under Stephen Robinson.

Kilmarnock confirmed his return to Rugby Park on Tuesday.

He said: “I am delighted. When I heard that this could be a possibility then obviously I jumped at the chance to get it done and I’m just delighted to be back.

“I always felt that I wanted to come back but in football you never know, you’re just hoping that the timing is going to be right and everything aligns.

“I had a chat with the manager and he explained what he was thinking and obviously his ambition and my ambitions. I won’t go into it too much but obviously we’re both ambitious and want the team to be successful and drive the team forward so I’m looking forward to it.”

Manager Stuart Kettlewell also expressed his enthusiasm for the deal: “Greg is a player I’ve admired for a number of years and he’s one that I’m confident will fit in well with our squad.

“He’s the type of player that will fit in well with the system we are going to play, and he’s the type of character we want to be here.

“Greg is a local lad, and Kilmarnock is his team, it was clear when speaking to him that he was eager to come back and I am delighted we could make it happen.”
