John McGinn will captain Scotland in Andy Robertson’s absence for the game against Ukraine in the Nations League.

The Aston Villa midfielder will lead Steve Clarke’s men out at Hampden Park with Kieran Tierney moved to left back in place of the Liverpool star.

Craig Gordon again starts in goals behind a back three of Scott McKenna, Jack Hendry and Scott McTominay with Tierney and Nathan Patterson at either side.

Stuart Armstrong and Callum McGregor make a three-man midfield alongside McGinn with Ryan Christie playing in behind Che Adams.

Scotland could move to the top of the group with a victory over Ukraine, who ended Steve Clarke’s World Cup hopes back in June.

They will then host the Republic of Ireland in Glasgow on Saturday before travelling to Krakow to play the Ukrainians again next Tuesday.
