Aberdeen manager Jimmy Thelin reminded his players they must give everything to reward the support of fans after being “amazed” by demand for tickets for their trip to Dens Park.
The Dons are looking to end a 14-match wait for a Premiership victory when they take on Dundee.
But there has been no wavering of the away support, with all 2,900 tickets sold out earlier in the week.
“It’s amazing,” Thelin said. “Everybody know this club is a big club. For me to to live here and feel it, the history is one thing, a good thing.
“You can also build a strong future, depending on history and the passion around people who work for the club and also people outside the club.
“It’s really connected and that’s why you have to be proud and take responsibility when you belong to this club and community, to do everything you can.
“You can’t do more than that. You can’t promise things, but you have to give everything.
“That’s what we talked about after the the Hibs game. We have to do everything we can to support this and be our best every day because the support we have is amazing.”
Thelin told his team to get the basics right after defeat by Hibernian in their previous league game and they responded with a comfortable Scottish Gas Scottish Cup win over Dunfermline.
But league form remains a concern for supporters, who have gone from hoping their team could maintain a title challenge to fearing for their top-six prospects.
Thelin said: “The pressure will always be there. Pressure is not a bad thing. You have to improve things. You have to look yourself in the mirror. You have to improve yourself. You have to improve the team.
“Also the support we feel in the club from the people who work here and the supporters that come to every game to support us really well. That’s a good sign also.
“How do you deal with it? You try to be focused on the right things.”
