Inverness Caledonian Thistle has confirmed that administrators will be appointed to the club after failing to reach a deal with a potential buyer.
A statement from the Highland club on Friday said it is envisaged that proposed administrators will be appointed early next week.
It also said that a plan is in place to allow the club to continue to trade whilst efforts to secure a long-term future are explored.
It comes after the club revealed that they had failed to finalise a deal with a potential buyer.
The League One side said talks with DA Capital ended “amicably” and never ruled out getting back around the table.
Discussions over a takeover had been ongoing between interim chairman Scott Young and businessman David Anderson.
The Highland club, which played in the Premiership until 2017 and won the Scottish Cup in 2015, recently revealed it was facing administration, which would also result in a 15-point deduction and likely relegation to the fourth tier of the SPFL pyramid.
Thursday’s deadline for interested buyers to complete a takeover has now passed.
A statement from the club said: “The directors have signed a notice of intention to appoint administrators to be filed at the Court.
“We envisage that the proposed administrators will be appointed on Monday or Tuesday.
“A plan is in place to allow the club to continue to trade whilst efforts to secure a long-term future are explored.”
