Inverness Caledonian Thistle has failed to finalise a deal with a potential buyer in a bid to avoid administration.
However, the League One club says talks with DA Capital ended “amicably” and never ruled out getting back around the table.
Discussions over a takeover had been ongoing between interim chairman Scott Young and businessman David Anderson.
The Highland club, which played in the Premiership until 2017 and won the Scottish Cup in 2015, recently revealed it was facing administration. This would also result in a 15-point deduction and likely relegation to the fourth tier of the SPFL pyramid.
Thursday’s deadline for interested buyers to complete a takeover has passed but hopes remained that finance and IT entrepreneur Anderson could strike a deal.
In a statement released on Friday, Young said: “Whilst a deal was not reached, negotiations on a purchase ended amicably, and DA Capital is welcome back to the table once the Club’s financial situation is under control.
“The Board will make a further statement in due course.”
