Roger Federer announced last week that he would undergo knee surgery for the third time in 18 months – casting doubt over whether he’ll ever play again.

Unquestionably one of the greatest ever tennis players, Federer is now 40 and told fans the operation would provide only a “glimmer of hope” that he can return to the court.

Four years ago, the Swiss maestro visited Glasgow to take on Andy Murray in a charity match at the Hydro.

From sporting a kilt to providing his Scottish opponent with some eye-catching headgear, Federer certainly had fun.

In pictures, he’s a reminder of that night in November 2017.
