Hibernian moved off the bottom and jumped to eighth in the Scottish Premiership with a 3-1 victory over fellow strugglers Ross County.
Eli Campbell headed County into an early lead with his first goal for the club but Hibs levelled deep into first-half stoppage time when Dwight Gayle finished impressively from Junior Hoilett’s cross.
Hibs missed one penalty, Nicky Cadden’s 70th-minute effort saved by Jack Hamilton, but scored a second three minutes later through Elie Youan – who then laid on Josh Campbell’s stoppage-time clincher.
St Johnstone are one of the sides overtaken by Hibs after a dramatic last-gasp 3-2 defeat to St Mirren.
Killian Phillips put St Mirren in front but Makenzie Kirk equalised from a tight angle early in the second half and Drey Wright played in Benjamin Kimpioka to fire the hosts ahead with nine minutes left.
However, Evan Mooney scored an 88th-minute equaliser for the Buddies, who were then awarded a penalty deep into stoppage time. Josh Hay saved from Mark O’Hara but after a VAR intervention, and with 99 minutes showing on the clock, substitute Roland Idowu converted St Mirren’s second attempt.
Apostolos Stamatelopoulos inspired Motherwell to a 4-3 win over Dundee United.
The Australian scored an early opener from Marvin Kaleta’s cross, but Sam Dalby quickly levelled from the penalty spot after Liam Gordon fouled Louis Moult.
Andy Halliday’s restored Well’s lead in the 33rd minute and Stamatelopoulos made it 3-1 at the break.
Wrexham loanee Dalby pulled one back but Stamatelopoulos teed up Tom Sparrow to make it 4-2, meaning Louis Moult’s late goal was a mere consolation.
