Relegated Heart of Midlothian will begin their Scottish Championship season against Dundee as the fixtures for the SPFL’s three lower leagues were announced.

Robbie Neilson’s side hope to bounce straight back to the Scottish Premiership at the first time of asking.

In League One Partick Thistle begin the season with a trip to Clyde while fellow promotion hopefuls Falkirk play Montrose away

In the bottom tier Stranraer begin their title challenge against Elgin City and last season’s League 2 runners-up Edinburgh City face Brechin City away.

SPFL chief executive Neil Doncaster said: “Announcing these fixtures is a big step towards the resumption of football for all SPFL clubs and I’d like to thank our members for their assistance and patience in the development of this season’s fixture calendar.

“Of course, we are still reliant on the virus remaining suppressed and we continue to work closely with both Scottish Government and the Coronavirus Joint Response Group to ensure that the appropriate protocols are upheld.”
