Hearts have signed Belgian striker Elton Kabangu from Union Saint-Gilloise on an initial deal until the end of the season.
The deal is subject to the 26-year-old being granted a work permit and Scottish Football Association approval.
Head coach Neil Critchley told the Hearts website: “It’s a boost to be able to bring a player of Elton’s pedigree in so soon after the transfer window opening.
“It’s an area of the pitch that we thought we needed to strengthen and Elton will bring a different dimension to our forward line.
“His experience of playing in the top leagues of Holland and Belgium will benefit the squad right now.”
Kabangu began his youth career at Gent before spending two seasons on loan at Dutch side FC Eindhoven.
He moved on to top-flight Dutch outfit Willem II, scoring 16 goals, before joining Union SG in 2023.
