Hearts have signed a new goalkeeper on a three-year deal and another has left the club after Craig Gordon also retired.

The club has agreed a deal with goalkeeper Beau Reus from Belgian club Beveren, subject to visa and SFA approval and international clearance.

The Dutchman has become the club’s 11th summer signing after they lost captain Lawrence Shankland and midfielder Cammy Devlin to rivals Rangers.

It comes as Hearts announced number one keeper last season, Alexander Schwolow, will depart the club to join FSV Mainz 05.

He will make the move to the Bundesliga side on August 1 on undisclosed terms.

The club said: “A move closer to home was Alex’s preference and given the arrival of Beau Reus, the club agreed to his request. He remains available for first-team selection until next month.”

The moves come after Scotland legend Gordon announced his retirement after the World Cup at age 43.

He won 15 major honours, including the Scottish Cup with Hearts in 2015, and six Premiership titles, five League Cups and three Scottish Cups with Celtic.
