Hearts have made their fourth signing of the January transfer window, adding Norwegian midfielder Sander Kartum to their squad.

The 29-year-old has signed a two-and-a-half year contract at Tynecastle after an undisclosed fee was paid to SK Brann.

Kartum has already played in Scotland this year, facing St Mirren in Conference League qualifying, and the attacking midfielder will now look to play his part in lifting Hearts up the Premiership table.

“It’s been a really positive transfer window so far and I’m delighted to welcome Sander to the club,” Hearts head coach Neil Critchley said.

“Coming off the back of a successful season for Brann he will bring a wealth of experience at a high level with him to the Scottish Premiership.

“Sander is technically a very gifted player, with the ability to connect the team together in the middle of the pitch and also provide an attacking threat in the final third.

“He will add much needed balance to our team and we are looking forward to watching him play in maroon.”

Hearts have already signed attacker Elton Kabangu on loan in this window, with defenders Jamie McCart and Michael Steinwender joining on permanent deals. Liam Boyce and Kye Rowles have both left the club.
