Hearts chief executive Andrew McKinlay is to leave the club at the end of the month.
The Edinburgh side appointed McKinlay, who had spent six years at the SFA as chief operating officer, back in 2020.
McKinlay was appointed vice president of the Scottish FA in January.
He will now step down from his role at Hearts on August 31, and the club confirmed on Monday that the search for a replacement is now under way.
Hearts chairman, Calum Paterson, said: “Andrew has served as CEO during a significant period in our history, which has seen considerable progress.
“On behalf of the Board and everyone at Hearts, I would like to thank Andrew for his contribution, commitment and service to the Club.
“He leaves with our best wishes for the future.”
Andrew McKinlay said: “It has been an honour to serve as CEO of Hearts. I am proud of all that we have achieved during my time at the Club and grateful to have worked alongside so many dedicated colleagues, players, supporters and partners.
“I wish everyone connected with Hearts every success in the future.”
It comes in what continues to be a period of change in the Hearts boardroom.
Ann Budge announced her decision to step down as chair of the club at the end of last year, as Brighton & Hove Albion owner Tony Bloom secured a £10m investment deal for a 29% stake last summer.
The club has also partnered with the data-based recruitment firm, Jamestown Analytics.
