Hearts have started their Premiership season with a win over Ross County thanks to goals from Alan Forrest and Barrie McKay.

Robbie Neilson’s men took the three points with a 2-1 victory at Tynecastle in the first Saturday of the season.

A late goal from Jordan White proved to be a consolation for Malky MacKay’s men.

Hearts’ Edinburgh rivals Hibernian beat St Johnstone 1-0 in Perth thanks to a late goal from Rocky Bushiri in the last minute of the game.

New captain David Marshall kept a clean sheet against Callum Davidson’s men who had Murray Davidson sent off just before the hour mark.

Meanwhile ten man Dundee United drew 1-1 with Kilmarnock at Rugby Park.

The visitors were ahead until late in the game thanks to a first half strike from Dylan Levitt.

United played the last 20 minutes a man down after Ian Harkes was shown a red card as the newly promoted hosts chased the game.

Ash Taylor scored the equaliser in injury time to steal a point for Derek McInnes.

In the early kick-off Rangers came back from a goal down to beat Livingston in West Lothian.

St Mirren will host Motherwell on Sunday before Aberdeen travel to Parkhead to take on the champions at Celtic Park.
