Hearts and Thistle’s first court hearing set for Tuesday

The clubs are taking action against the SPFL following relegation.

The first court hearing over Hearts and Partick Thistle’s attempts to avoid relegation will take place on Tuesday.

An initial hearing will be via telephone conferencing facilities, according to the Court of Session’s latest schedule.

Hearts and Thistle last week launched legal action against the Scottish Professional Football League, claiming their relegations were unfair.

The pair and Stranraer were consigned to the drop following a vote by clubs to end the season in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic and decide final placings on a points-per-game basis.

The SPFL responded to the petition on Wednesday along with lower-league champions Dundee United, Raith Rovers and Cove Rangers after Hearts and Thistle launched a bid to stop them getting promoted.
