Glasgow Warriors’ newest signing has spoken of how he suffered a cardiovascular event while training last year.
Jack Singleton has signed a short-term deal with the Warriors after previously playing for Gloucester, where he scored 20 tries in 75 appearances.
Singleton only recently returned to full training after experiencing the cardiovascular event during training in September 2025.
The 30-year-old has earned three caps for England, including an appearance against the USA at the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan.
Singleton said: “It was a hereditary condition we didn’t know about, and since the operations and procedures I’ve had, everything is more under control.
“I’m in a much safer spot than I was 16 months ago when I was playing.”
He added: “There was an initial point in hospital when I was told I probably wouldn’t be allowed to play; that was ill-advised.
“We got the emergency stuff done and then we spoke with the cardiologists who spoke about being able to come back and play.”
Head coach Franco Smith added: “With Gregor Hiddleston and Seb Stephen having both made their Scotland debuts over the summer and with both players likely to be involved during the Nations Championship and Guinness Six Nations, Jack brings a wealth of top-flight experience into our environment that will benefit us during those periods.
“He is someone who has already begun to throw himself into becoming a Warrior, and is willing to work hard for his teammates and his club. He will also provide a positive influence on the development of our three young hookers.
“We are pleased to welcome him into our environment and look forward to working closely with him over the coming months.”
