Glasgow Clan have announced the signing of netminder Shane Starrett.
The 6ft 5in Canadian is the first signing of new coach Malcolm Cameron and the first confirmed name on the roster for the new season which is scheduled to start in November.
Starrett knows Cameron from their time together at Wichita Thunder, when they reached the ECHL playoff in 2017/18, and the netminder says he is excited to be reuniting with his former coach.
He said: “It’s very exciting to be coming over and I’d been looking at opportunities overseas so when Malcolm Cameron called me, I found what he told me intriguing.
“I’d never been to Scotland or the UK and speaking to various people, they spoke very highly of Glasgow as a city in general.
“The coach and I had a lot of success in Wichita, reaching the playoffs and we had a good relationship there.
“I’m looking forward to winning some games. It looks like it’s going to be a lot of fun and hopefully it will be a successful [season] too.”
