Gary Anderson defeated Michael Smith to claim his first victory of the Premier League season in Nottingham.

Anderson averaged more than 104 in a 6-4 victory to climb off the bottom of the standings after six rounds.

Anderson had earlier edged past Jonny Clayton 6-5 in his first match of the night before defeating world champion Peter Wright 6-3 with a clinical display.

Smith reached a second successive final, beating James Wade 6-1 in the quarter-finals and then coming from 4-0 down to beat Gerwyn Price 6-4.

Price had ended Michael Van Gerwen’s hopes of a third successive victory with a 6-4 victory to start the night while Wright was a 6-4 winner over Joe Cullen.
