Former Rangers forward David Healy has announced he is staying at Linfield after being approached to be the new Raith Rovers manager.
The Kirkcaldy club have been on the hunt for a new boss since Ian Murray was sacked at the start of August.
Healy’s current club Linfield confirmed they had been contacted by the Championship club over bringing Northern Ireland’s record scorer to Stark’s Park.
However, the club announced on Monday that Healy agreed a one-year contract extension and will be remaining with the club.
Healy stated: “I am pleased that the club was prepared to extend my contact at Linfield and I am thankful to the Board for the support they have given me.
“Everyone knows that I am passionate about this club and I am totally focused on achieving further success during the remainder of my contract.”
“We have made a solid start to the season and I am delighted to continue working with this squad of players who share my determination to bring further success to the club.”
