Former England manager Sven-Goran Eriksson has died aged 76.
The Swede, who also managed Manchester City and Lazio among a host of club and national teams, revealed in January that he had, at most, a year to live after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
He stepped down from his most recent role as sporting director at Swedish club Karlstad in February 2023 due to health issues.
In 2001, he made history by becoming the first foreign manager to take charge of the England side and was tasked with coaching top stars such as David Beckham, Steven Gerrard and Wayne Rooney.
He was in charge when they famously beat Germany 5-1 in Munich on route to the World Cup in 2002 where they reached the quarter-final stage.
After leaving the role in 2006 he managed other nations such as Mexico and Ivory Coast.
During his 40-year management career he won trophies in Sweden, Portugal and Italy.
