Preparations have begun for what will be a tartan invasion of the States next summer after Scotland learned their group opponents, venues, and match schedules for the 2026 World Cup.

The men’s national team will take part in the biggest stage in football for the first time in 28 years when they make the trip across the Atlantic.

They were pulled out of the hat in Group C alongside Brazil, Morocco and Haiti at the draw in Washington, DC on Friday.

On Saturday, the venues, dates and kick-off times for the three group matches were confirmed, sparking a race for flights, tickets and accommodation.

All of Scotland’s games will be on the east coast of the United States, with two in Boston (Foxborough), Massachusetts and one in Miami, Florida.

However, while that will make it easier for fans travelling over for the games, the kick-off times are a bit of a logistical nightmare for those staying at home, with the opening game at 2am and the others at 11pm.

The World Cup kicks off with Mexico v South Africa in Mexico City on June 11 and will run for over a month until the final is held in New York on July 19.
