St Johnstone boss Simo Valakari has been named as the Scottish Championship Glen’s Manager of the Month for September.
The Perth side won all four of their league games last month to continue their unbeaten start and remain six points clear at the summit of the second tier.
Saints kicked off the month with a 2-0 win away at Raith Rovers before following that with home victory over Dunfermline.
They then took six points from back-to-back away games against Airdrie and Queen’s Park.
Valakari will be hoping to continue their form into a busy October with fixtures to come against Ross County, Arbroath, and Greenock Morton.
On being named Manager of the Month, he said: “I am once again honoured to receive this award, but again it belongs to everyone at St Johnstone Football Club. The work behind the scenes from everyone across the club is second to none.
“I must give a special shout out to my players who have again produced some great results over the course of the month. We have shown a different side to our game and we are determined to keep our positive form and momentum going.
“I must also thank our fans for their constant support both home and away. They have played a key role in our form so far this season and I am sure they will continue to give us their unbelievable backing as the campaign progresses.”
Colin Matthews, CEO of Glen’s owner the Loch Lomond Group, said: “St Johnstone has continued their impressive winning streak into September and this formidable performance made Simo Valakari the obvious choice for the voting panel as the worthy recipient of the Championship Glen’s Manager of the Month.
“My congratulations go to Simo and the rest of the team at St Johnstone.”
