Deadline-day signing Sebastian Tounekti has vowed to bring a direct approach to Celtic’s attack.

The 23-year-old former Bodo/Glimt winger was the Hoops’ only new addition on Monday when he joined from from Hammarby on a five-year deal for a reported £5.5m.

The Norway-born Tunisia international is intent on attacking Premiership defenders.

“I’m a typical dribbler, I like to attack,” Tounekti said in an official club interview. “I don’t like to pass back when I have the chance to attack.

“If it’s one or two players, I like to take on players, try to make something happen and of course try to produce goals and assists, because at the end of the day it’s about winning games. I’m looking forward to helping the team.”

Tounekti finalised his transfer to Celtic just a day after scoring a penalty in Hammarby’s 4-0 home win over Osters on Sunday. The winger, capped twice by Tunisia, believes playing for the Scottish champions can help develop him as a player.

“It’s an amazing feeling,” he said. “It’s been some crazy days, but I’m just really happy to be here and to call myself a Celtic player.

“I’ve known about the interest for a long time, but I played on Sunday for Hammarby and everything was so fast. But when I heard there was a possibility, I was ready and now I’m a Celtic player and very happy to be here.

“My plan is to get to know the team, to get to know everyone in the club, but, of course, I’m here to help the team, I’m here to win games.

“It’s a massive club. When you speak about Celtic, you know it’s a historic club, they win titles almost every year, so it’s a big honour to be part of this great club.

“To be at Celtic, I think it’s the best place I can develop and for me to be in a club who win games and titles and everything, I think it’s the best for a player in my age. I’m just looking forward to developing.”
