Rangers lose ground in title race after Aberdeen draw

Rangers have lost ground in the Premiership title race after a scoreless draw against Aberdeen on Saturday.

In a tense game at Ibrox the home side couldn’t find away past Aberdeen goalkeeper Joe Lewis.

Alfredo Morelos made a return to Steven Gerrard’s starting eleven and new signings Ianis Hagi, son of Romanian legend Gheorghe, came on for the last 10 minutes of the game.

Loan signing Florian Kamberi also came off the bench for the last five minutes.

But neither could help Rangers to the goal they needed and they are now four points behind league leaders Celtic.

Elsewhere Kilmarnock took the full three points with a win over Ross County and Rugby Park and Livingston beat Motherwell 1-0 at the Tony Macaroni arena.

In Edinburgh Hibs were held to a 2-2 draw by St Mirren and Hearts and St Johnstone drew 3-3 in Perth.

Celtic now have a chance to go seven points clear when they play bottom side Hamilton on Sunday.
