Rangers have suffered a new injury blow with the news that winger Oliver Antman will be out for the next eight weeks.
Head coach Danny Rohl revealed on Tuesday that the 24-year-old won’t be available for around two months.
The Ibrox side are preparing for a trip to Tannadice to take on Dundee United in Premiership action on Wednesday night.
Speaking to the media on the eve of that game, Rohl said: “Oliver will be out for a minimum of eight weeks, with a muscle injury.
“Youseff (Chermiti) has been in this morning, we will see how he reacts, so it will be a light session for him to see if he’s available, Dujon (Sterling) will be in the squad tomorrow.
“Mikey (Moore) is looking good, he won’t be available for this week but mayb)e in the short term. I cannot promise too much, but that looks good.
“Joe (Rothwell) could also be back in the squad, he was injured last week.”
Rangers dropped their first league points since Rohl was appointed when they were held to a 0-0 draw by Falkirk at home on Sunday.
And the head coach insists it is vital they get back to winning ways, and to do that they need to improve on their attacking output by creating and taking more of their opportunities in front of goal.
He said: “We were getting into good areas but the next part was not good enough.
“The next step is take more opportunities, keeping a clean sheet was good at the weekend but we have to make sure we’re improving that.
“When I arrived, I wanted to make an instant impact. We have made small steps forward but of course we have had small setbacks too.
“I’m looking at the big picture, and I’m showing my players that I have confidence that we can improve. Football is about winning, and we have the chance to do this over the second half of the season.”
Rohl also revealed that the club expect to be without Mohamed Diomande and Nasser Djiga once the African Cup of Nations gets under way later this month.
The tournament, being held in Morocco, will run from December 21 until January 18, 2026.
