Rangers have been hit by a suspended reduction of future away allocations following a pyrotechnic display at Fir Park.
The SPFL has found the Ibrox club to be in breach of league rules in the incident that took place in their opening game of the Premiership season.
The game against Motherwell on August 2 ended in a 1-1 draw.
A sanction has now been imposed, meaning a future away allocation will be cut by 50 tickets in the event of a similar incident over the next year.
An investigation was launched by the governing body into the “unacceptable conduct” of the away support following a “large-scale, organised, and illegal pyrotechnics display”.
Proceedings have now concluded and the SPFL revealed on Tuesday that Rangers have been found to be in breach of Rule H37.
The club was found to have breached the rule in failing to ensure, as far as is reasonably practicable, that their supporters did not engage in “unacceptable conduct” at that match.
They were also found to have failed to identify or take proportionate disciplinary measures against the supporters responsible for the pyrotechnic display.
If this sanction is triggered, the club will be required to pay the costs for the 50 tickets to the home club for the respective match.
