Rangers cut gap to 13 points with win over Ross County

Rangers have cut the gap at the top of the Premiership to 13 points after a win over Ross County in Dingwall.

Steven Gerrard’s men won a tightly fought clash in the Highlands thanks to a late Ryan Kent strike on Sunday afternoon.

The victory keeps Rangers faint hopes of a late title challenge alive going in to next weekend’s game against league leaders Celtic.

Despite having the bulk of the chances the opening 45 minutes the visitors were unable to break the deadlock as it remained 0-0 going in to half time.

But a deflected shot from the former Liverpool youngsters found its way past Laidlaw and in to the net on the 77th minute.

Rangers are now 13 points behind their Glasgow rivals with a game in hand and two Old Firm games still to play.

Celtic have eight games left to play and Rangers have nine.

The Ibrox side also have a Europa League last 16 match with Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen to contend with before hosting the Hoops on Sunday.
